The Cold Weather Shelters in Pacoima, Palmdale and Lancaster operate from December through March and have more than 200 beds for men and women in need of immediate shelter. Clients have a clean, warm, safe place to sleep and a hot dinner and breakfast. Clients also have access to case management so they can receive referrals to medical and mental health care and they can receive assistance with strategies and solutions to end their homelessness. The HELP Center in Van Nuys is a pickup location for clients to access the Pacoima shelter only. Clients are transported from the HELP Center to the Pacoima shelter beginning at 5:00 PM then they are transported back to the HELP Center in the morning. This is a Good Neighbor Policy instituted in partnership with Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez that minimizes the impact on the surrounding neighborhood. Our shelters are also pet friendly because we know how important animal companions are to our clients.
